The Djerba Island Tour

HALF DAY TOUR- $25 per person (4 or more people)

This tour will take you from your hotel to the Roman Causeway, the Museum of Patrimony, the El Griba Synagogue and the Spanish port.

Roman Causeway
This is the only direct link the island has with the mainland – it was constructed in by the Romans.

Guellala is known as the village of potters – known for its traditional unglazed pottery and famous furnaces of wood, its oil presses and its museum. The Heritage Museum (Museum of Patrimony) encourages appreciation of the treasures and wonders of the island’s traditional life.

This little village has a Jewish community, who lived on this island for 100s of years. The El Ghriba Synagogue is the oldest outside of Israel and posesses one of the most ancient Torahs in the world. A real wonder in this setting.

Houmt-Souk (main town on Dherba)
The foundations of this Spanish port was laid in the sixteenth century. A visit the local arts and crafts shops (souks) is a must. Memorabilia to take to friends and family can be bartered in a fun way.
