First we would like to say thanks for Abdul who was a delightful and caring driver. We would recommend him highly and were very fortunate that we had his care and excellent driving.
Next we would like to thank all at Experience It Tours for a wonderful holiday, good value and fascinating exposure to Morocco.
Definitely Chefchouen was a highlight, and also Fez and Essouria. We had a wonderful night in the luxe tent in the desert, it was a shame the sky was overcast but that couldn’t be helped! The service and floor show there was once in a lifetime experience.
We did find we were a bit over ambitious in the distances driven, spending a lot of time just driving. Abdul is to be commended for his insider knowledge of where to get the best coffee and special stops as our tour unfolded.
The accommodations were mostly great with a couple of riads great, others ok. The dinner provided at the Marrakesh riad was not good. Breakfasts were without exception good. The accomdation at Chef was superb! And the room at Marrakesh lovely (just not the dinner). We were very warmly welcomed at Fez yet the accomdation there probably least impressive. The room was very small and we were woken by prayers at 4am each morning.
We loved our room at Essaouria looking down over the ocean. and Dades was a magical view of the mountains, and a fantastic dinner and breakfast.
Our guides were knowledgeable, courteous. We were suffering from virus colds/flu during the trip and Abdul and the guides made useful suggestions and took us to a pharmacy for medication.
One suggestion from me, who enjoys a glass of wine with dinner – we were told we could have brought some wine with us back to the riad, to have with dinner but by the time we knew that, we were almost at the end of our trip. It’s just a suggestion as we did not want to offend local customs, and understand alcohol is not part of daily culture. For me, it would have added a small extra dimension to my enjoyment when dining in the riads.
Finally we want to compliment you on the level of smooth organization and assistance when Air France let us down badly. And a last comment – Ricks cafe is a fantastic finish to the tour, thank you for this excellent tip! We loved it.
We have already recommended Experience It to friends and will put up a very favorable review on trip advisor when we get home. If you are asked for a reference, we’d be happy to give one!
Thanks again for all your assistance, you’ve been our Magic Carpet through Morocco.
