I am safe and sound back in Spain, yes … but still recovering from hauling all these carpets and souvenirs back home 😉
Morocco has been a wonderful experience to me, although the trip was of course somewhat overshadowed by Kelley’s illness. Without the support of the “Experience it” team though it would have been impossible for me to move on with the tour. Jill and Sarah took great care of Kelley, I am very grateful for that.
So I spent most of the trip alone with Jalal, our driver. He was great fun to be with! Always in a good mood, very reliable, very good driver, always willing to help and very flexible. I really enjoyed that.
My personal highlights of Morocco are numerous:
– The craftmanship and detail in everything manmade
– Very friendly people everywhere. I also felt very safe.
– The colours and the smells
– the Food!
… and to be more precise: Ait Ben-Haddou was what I came for, and it was very impressive. Loved the Middle Atlas for its lush green. The desert for the desert 😉 And Marrakech of course which is incomparable to anything!
BTW, the most wonderful place I stayed at was by far RIAD MADU in the desert. What a beautiful place and the best beef tajine I had!
