Which tour did you take? 9-Day Step Into the Magnificient Morocco Tour
What was the highlight(s) of your trip? While everything was wonderful, Greg and I were overjoyed with the morning camel ride in the Sahara Desert. Riding a camel in the desert has been on Barbara’s list for quite some time. We both love old movies with Lawrence of Arabia being one of our favorites. Riding a camel in the Sahara was a bucket list dream come true!
Are there any places/activities that you’d advise leaving out in the future? Why? Loved all the places we visited and the rest day in Skoura at L’Ma Lodge was perfectly timed. Really enjoyed our time at the Ait Ben Haddour Kasbah. Greg and I walked to the top while Rachid patiently waited for us. The Majorelle Gardens in Marrakech were lovely, too.
Would you recommend Experience It Tours? Absolutely! Without any hesitation.
Any comments about your driver: Rachid was always pleasant and professional. He was quick to answer our questions with very thoughtful and thorough answers. Our safety was his utmost concern which was most appreciated. We have recommended Rachid and Experience It Tours to several of our friends.
What did you think of the accommodations on this tour? Excellent.
Please specify if there were some hotels/riads you were not happy with and why: The hotel in Merzouga was lovely and I had the best time taking photographs during sunset hour. However, our shower drain was not working and we had to quickly take a shower to prevent water from spilling onto the bathroom floor. The service in Merzouga was impeccable and we truly enjoyed our stay except for the shower. While Riad Kniza was spectacular, the upstairs downstairs layout was a bit challenging at times.
Any other comments you want to share: We arrived at the Sahara Desert superior tent accommodations about 3:30 in the afternoon. It was a very windy day so we had to delay our camel ride to the next morning which turned out perfectly as we enjoyed sunrise. However, it was very, very hot in the tent for several hours waiting for the air conditioning to be turned on. We were told air conditioning was not available until 8:30 p.m. after dinner. Perhaps timing the arrival a little later int the afternoon would have been a better option for us. There was no way to predict the delay of the camel ride due to windy conditions.
