Oh, where to begin . . . Morocco is a smorgasbord of beautiful landscapes, old world artisans, exotic locales & unexpected surprises! (Meeting monkeys—Barbary macaques––in the snowy Middle Atlas mountains during a day’s drive to ride camels & camp in the Sahara! Such a mind-boggling juxtaposition!) My husband and I had very high expectations for our two week tour and Experience It Tours met and exceeded them all. Our driver/guide Hamid was the consummate professional. He astounded us with his all-encompassing knowledge of Morocco—answering every question we threw at him. Not to mention his incredible driving skills. Honestly, Hamid could be the UN ambassador for Morocco based on his depth of knowledge and passion for his country & culture. And our tour designer, Brian, worked with me to customize our trip to include days in Tangier & Scarabeo’s Stone Camp in Agafay (with a motorcycle/sidecar trip to get there and separate luggage delivery). Once we were on the ground, Hamid made it all happen. He knew all the best places to stop, to dine, to take photos, to explore, to shop… he even found argan goats in a farmer’s field for us to photograph because he knew how much I wanted to see some. My husband is a woodturner, so Hamid took us to meet other woodturners along the way. One of the highlights of our journey was when Hamid took us into a school where we met lots of children who enchanted us with their smiles and interactions. Every wish & need was met; every day was magic. By the tour’s end we felt we had truly experienced the soul of the country. Morocco has become a part of us now. The trip was a perfect as it gets, including the additional guides provided in Volubilis & Marrakech who were equally brilliant and great company. We are so grateful that we found the Experience It team. Their name says it all—you really do experience the country in a transformative way. Everything was as smooth as silk, start to finish. We absolutely recommend them.
