Simply said, too good!!

Which tour did you take?

11 day/10 Night Morocco Tour – April 2024

What was the highlight(s) of your trip?

11 days/10 nights Morocco tour (April 2024) which included a night in a tent in the Sahara desert.
In terms of highlights, simply everything!!! The entire experience of booking our trip with Lorre Howell to the time we landed and stepped out of the airport and met our incredible driver Karim, to all of the stops, the Riads we stayed in (this was simply one of the major highlights of our trip – EIT planned these so perfectly – all were fantastic our favourite was “Ksar El Kabbaba”) to the Riad near Sahara desert and the venture into and staying in the Sahara Desert (a surreal experience and the learning about the original Amazigh or Berber peoples), to Fez and Marrakesh, the amazing historical sites, the bazars, the kindness of the local people to visiting the blue city ChefChaouen, the wonderful drives through the Rif and the Atlas mountains (this was amazing) and amazing guides we had in the cities including the gentleman while visiting the Roman ruins at Volubilis. Not to forget the amazing food we tasted including the restaurants selected by our driver, especially the one in Fes and Marrakesh but many other along the way. We also connected and made new friends whom we are still in touch with. All in all too many highlights to mention but one of the best trips we have taken and Morocco is simply a treasure to visit!!

Any other comments about your driver:

He provided the best service above and beyond. He managed the balance of a driver and not becoming a full time guide perfectly but provided us enough information to make the drives with him fantastic. To us, he simply became a friend. He was expert but very safe in driving. Our flight got in a bit late in Casablanca but Karim made the most effort to get us to the tour of Hassan II mosque before the Friday prayers and we made it!! We can’t say enough good things about Karim. Please convey our regards to him and we often remember the time we spend with him in our vehicle as much as we remember all of the wonderful times of our trip.!!

Please list your favourite accommodations on the trip.

All the RIADS hit the spot. I am amazed how EIT arranged it that each Riad got better than the one before. We loved our first quaint Riad in Rabat. The lady who was our host was fantastic. I would like to mention 5* for her hospitality. Food was great. Charming location – we enjoyed the evening near the Kasbah where families were hanging around because of Eid celebrations!! No complaints on the Riad in CC – very enjoyable and great room Riad Salam in Fes was out of this world in terms of decor and our room – wow!! Fes Riad was very good as well
The Riad outside Sahara desert – Riad Madu – excellent vistas, fantastic room and fantastic food and service. The Sahara desert venture was out of this world including the food and accommodations in the desert. Our favorite Riad was in Skoura – beyond beautiful and top notch service – something out of a movie 🙂 The owner of Riad Le Clos Des Arts was amazing – he spent 30 minutes talking to us when we arrived. The spa / massage services at both these resorts was excellent and very cost effective.

Please specify if there were some hotels/riads you were not happy with and why:

All of them very good to simply excellent. Please see above.

Any other comments you want to share

Simply said too good!! EIT trip planning, accommodation’s, driver and vehicle and knowledgeable guides were just perfect and exceeded all our expectations. I will say, and we understand this, sometimes there is some salesy pressure in cities in terms of purchasing etc. We felt a bit of it if I can remember correctly in Fes where we were told we are visiting a house but was about carpet sales. But at the end of the day it all worked out and we did buy a carpet in a more remote location. There was no undue pressure per se. The pottery factory and tannery visits were highlights as well.
