Let me just say that everything about Experience It Tours exceeded our expectations. From the first time we made contact with you, to saying our goodbyes to Youssef at the airport, the service we received was simply fantastic. You guys cared for every aspect of our trip. We were in good hands from start-to-finish and appreciated that more and more as the trip went forward.
First of all, communication was timely and comprehensive. We appreciated the flexibility in customizing our tour and the pre-trip information that we received had us well prepared. Everything about the trip was seamless. Every drop off was timed perfectly. Every time we pulled up to a riad the porters were there waiting. Every tour guide was waiting for us. We marveled at how synchronized everything was. (And clearly Youssef played a huge role in this.) We do wish we had some extra time to further enjoy some of the riads, but that couldn’t be helped given the amount of driving we did.
With a couple of exceptions, we were extremely happy with our accommodations. Riad Myra was exceptional, as was L’ma Lodge. Riad Chergui and the camp in the Sahara were great as well. Riad Madu was beautiful, but unfortunately Diane had to change rooms due to a mold issue in her bathroom. Lastly, we thought Dar Baibou in Chefchaouen was fair at best. That riad has a lot of charm but also needs some updating. Raphaela and I had to make a room change here as our room was loaded with flies and the toilet seat was broken. Four stars for this riad is a stretch. And the dinner at Casa Hassan was nothing to write home about. (The meals at all the other riads, as well as in the desert, were terrific.)
Now, onto Youssef. Given that your drivers are literally the face of your company, you are lucky to have Youssef caring for your clients. Although a little soft-spoken at first, it didn’t take long for us all to click. By the end of our tour, we welcomed Youssef into our family. He was polite, knowledgeable, and fun to be around. His restaurant recommendations, whether it was a roadside BBQ or a nice sit-down restaurant, were spot on – every time. His attentiveness and attention to detail went beyond expectation. And he kept the car spotless – every day.
Youseff was truly exceptional not only for his professionalism and care throughout the tour but also for the way he generously shared stories and personal insights into his life as a young Moroccan family man. Through his conversations, we felt we experienced much more than a curated tour; we were gently invited to see glimpses of everyday life, religion, and traditions in Morocco beyond the usual tourist perspective.
At one point, he even offered the option to join him in a local, public hammam experience—not as a special arrangement, but as part of his own routine—so we could better understand and appreciate a meaningful aspect of local culture. It was completely optional and approached with great respect, and it added a deeply human layer to our time together.
We left feeling like we hadn’t just been guided through Morocco but briefly welcomed into it.
Bottom line is, Youssef made this a fantastic experience for us. We couldn’t imagine doing it without him.
Lastly, Amy was so responsive and helpful. She too was a great resource for us and ensured the success of our trip.
