I am back in Colorado and getting back into our routine.
The group had a great time in Morocco and as one of the group said each day exceeded expectations. I’ll give you a few of my thoughts, but I think it might be helpful to ask the group members their impressions since it was theri first time in Morocco. I’ll send these questions to the group and ask them to give their feedback.
The sites we visited were an excellent variety and representation of the history, culture, and geography of Morocco. Each day members of the group expressed amazement at what they were experiencing.
The lecture was very well received and generated quite a bit of discussion for the rest of the tour. Some folks didn’t realize Morocco was not just an Islamic country, but an Islamic state. It was a bit eye-opening for some.
Everyone loved Riad Dar Laura! So many photos were taken there! We, Sara and I, felt all the accommodations were fine.
I think the highlight of the tour for most of the participants was the Sahara Desert. Since I had taken a group previously I was not as overwhelmed as the others, but it was certainly a highlight for them. This time we were taken to the camp in SUV’s given a short sunset camel ride, then the guides and camels returned to the hotel and food was brought out from the hotel and there was a very short drumming session after dinner before they returned to the hotel. We were then picked up in SUVs to return to the hotel for breakfast.
Mohammed Laaboussi was a great guide and very accomodating. He went out of his way to accomodate the needs of the group.
The group seemed to especially enjoy the relaxed time with Mohammed and his family at their home, at the end of the tour.
EIT was fantastic in organizing and seeing to the needs of the group. I would highly recommend EIT for any group travel.
