I don’t think I had a favourite city. They were all unique and interesting as well as beautiful. I guess my least favourite was Essaouira, but it also had its charm. I definitely had a favourite Riad, “Le Clos des Arts” in Marrakech. It was beautiful. The best food we had and the owners were just wonderful. It was the only Riad where we had anyone talk to us. They were also very helpful and made my birthday very special buy presenting me with a rose and birthday candle at breakfast; taking us to a concert; arranging the spa and giving me a pair of beautiful Moroccan slippers. And… to top it off Adil presented us with a Happy birthday tune and gift from Experience It tours. Thank you so much. The other riads and hotels were beautiful, but staff were like in any hotel.
The cooking classes were wonderful. I don’t know what they pay Chef Souad, but they should double it; she was outstanding. The class in Essaouira was fun and worthwhile and very different from the clock kitchen.
Of course the Desert experience was one to remember forever. My attempt at riding a camel was not too successful and I only lasted 30 minutes. However, we sat on a dune and watched the sunset and they sent a 4×4 to pick us up. (My desire outweighed my common sense and I forgot my age.) Being the only guests in the camp was a bit uncomfortable at first, but the staff made us feel so welcome that we quickly overcame that feeling.
We really appreciated the Moroccan experiences that Adil added to our tour. Tea in a nomad tent was not something we had thought we would have and we will treasure this experience forever. The barbecue lunch he bought us on the street was so good and different that I have to tell all my friends about it.
Thank you so much for giving us Adil. It is amazing that we could spend 14 days with our driver and never once feel any frustration. He is a true professional. The new Mercedes was a surprise and treat.
