We were delighted we could organise such a complex trip so quickly and with such ease. Thanks to all your staff.
Too many highlights to choose one: sunrise over the Sahara dunes, the beautiful tiles, carved and painted wood in the madrassas, the peaceful atmosphere inside the riads, the bustling fishing port of Essaouira, the Musée des sources (Lalla Mimouna), the Berber museum in the jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, amazing food and the chance to meet with the Berber locals in their villages.
Mohamed Laaziz really made our tour perfect for us from the first. He was friendly, generous and polite with a great sense of humour. He was also competent, punctual and well organised, which meant everything ran smoothly. He is a very safe driver, which allowed us to relax and enjoy the scenery. As we travelled around Morocco, he shared his local knowledge of the places we visited. We especially appreciated his information on local customs and the language, which we were able to use in our interactions with the Moroccan people we met.
He quickly found out our interests and made suggestions for activities not on the original trip, enriching and personalising our experience. For example, he drove miles out of his way to take us to see a local weekly farmers market and on the last day, took us to the fish market in Essaouira where he bought delicious fresh seafood which was then cooked especially for us in a local restaurant. A perfect end to a fantastic trip and something we would never have managed, travelling alone. He was also flexible and allowed us to include a side trip to the Musée des sources (Lalla Mimouna) which we heard was of interest.
We felt completely at ease with Mohamed and felt he always had our interests at heart, always thinking of ways to improve our experience. We’d highly recommend him to anyone visiting Morocco as an exceptional driver, companion and guide.
The Dar Dmana in Fes and the riad Yasmine in Marrakech had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and staff, the Xaluca Dades had a magnificent dinner and the riad Irocha was in an amazing location, set among the Atlas Mountains in a tiny Berber village. Very authentic with a rustic feel.
