“Authentic cultural experience!” – Day in the Life of a Berber

Back in the beginning of March, my wife and I toured Morocco with our driver-guide Khalid Abou Allam. We were very pleased with the scope and depth of our experience and felt the tour was both very well conceived and executed. We feel we really had the chance to taste Morocco, its culture and its people.

In particular, we want to tell you how pleased we were with Kahlid. He was the consummate professional the entire time, prompt, very knowledgeable, helpful and always anticipating our needs and providing unasked for help and guidance. You can’t do much better than Kahlid. I suggest you do whatever you need to to keep him close to your business activities.

We wanted to comment too on the day visit we took to the Berber Cultural Center. This was one of the high lights of the entire tour for us, an unexpected and rich experience that we will remember for a long time. The warm hospitality of Mohamed Elhansali and his wife made us feel we were visitors in their home and the experience of preparing an authentic Moroccan meal, making bread from scratch and baking it in the community oven, were simply amazing. We really felt we were getting in touch with an authentic cultural experience. We recommend this tour and the experience it holds and recommend that you do more to suggest it to your patrons. If Mohamed is able to develop the programs he hopes to, he will make significant contributions to international cultural exchange efforts–we foresee mutual benefits if you stay close to his efforts and progress.

Also, thanks so much for recommending Riad Omar…Marrakech was beyond all expectations, but what made it extra special was our two nights there, right in the middle of it all…we both really appreciate your help with that…it would not have been the same experience at all without that stay.

These comments are brief, not much, considering all we got out of the trip; but we wanted to make sure you got this feed back and that Khalid and Mohamed receive the recognition they so much deserve.

Regards,

Jerry and Irma.
