DAY 1 CASABLANCA

Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the Mohamed V International Airport. You will have a visit of Morocco’s largest city including a visit to the Hassan II, one of the world’s biggest mosques (optional). Dinner will be served in a local restaurant; your first taste of Moroccan cuisine.

DAY 2 Rabat/Fes

After breakfast, you will head off to Rabat, the capital city and residence of the King. You will visit the La Tour Hassan, Mausoleum, King’s Palace and more. You will have lunch and finish the drive to Fes.

In the late afternoon, you will have your first cooking lesson. Wandering down the small alleys into the medina of Fes, you will learn to prepare some of Morocco’s finest foods, flavored with the local herbs and spices. You will enjoy your own cooking for dinner!

DAY 3 Fes

After breakfast you will begin your guided tour of the medina, one of the world’s largest walled in cities. You will explore the narrow streets lined with fresh fruit, mounds of spices, intricately woven Berber carpets and many other art objects of Morocco. A visit to the Berber pharmacy will allow you to experience the fragrances of natural perfumes and oils. The entire tour of the old medina will touch on your senses with the various sights, sounds, and smells. A visit to the King’s Palace, the tanneries, and potters are just a few places you will experience. For lunch you will eat in a traditional restaurant in the heart of the medina. After lunch you will complete the tour and return to your hotel for the evening. Dinner will be served in the riad.

DAY 4 FES COOKING LESSON & SPA

After a traditional breakfast in the riad, you will have your second cooking experience in Fes, which will take most of the day. You will begin the day by visiting the local vegetable market; purchasing the necessary ingredients for the day’s meal. Your teacher will then take you back to the house / riad, where you will learn the art of Fes cooking. Not only will you learn to cook, you will get to eat this lovely meal that you have prepared.

After all of your hard work is complete, take in a true cultural destination at one of the local hammams (optional – not included). These public baths are a place to relax, with many including a massage or other spa services.

Dinner will be served in one of the local restaurants of the medina.

DAY 5 MARRAKECH

After an early breakfast, you will depart for Marrakech. The beautiful drive will take you up into the Middle Atlas Mountains and along the base of the High Atlas Mountains.

Once in Marrakech, you will check into your hotel and then head off to the Jemaa el-Fna, the center square of the medina. Coming alive at night with the local storytellers, entertainers, and mouth-watering barbeque pits, the square is well worth a visit. A quiet cup of tea on the terrace of an adjacent café provides a spectacular aerial view of the bustling square.

DAY 6 MARRAKECH

After breakfast, you will have a guided tour of Marrakech, the southern pearl of Morocco. You will discover the Palace of the Bahia, the Saadian Tombs, and many other hidden treasures. After lunch, you will continue with the tour on to the magnificent Koutoubia Mosque and down to the square.

You will also enjoy a visit to some of Marrakech’s finest gardens – The Majorelle Gardens. The tour will conclude with an exploration of the Marrakech souk (market). Dinner will be served in at the famous square in a local restaurant.

DAY 7 MARRAKECH BERBER COOKING EXPERIENCE

After a traditional breakfast in the riad, you will head out of Marrakech 1.5 hrs to a small Berber village where you will learn to cook as the Berbers do. Whether you are learning to bake bread in a clay oven, cooking tagine over a charcoal fire, or brewing mint tea, this experience is nothing like you have ever done before. Back to the basics of cooking – a day in the life of a Berber! Dinner will be served in the riad.

DAY 8 MARRAKECH / ESSAOUIRA

After breakfast, you will set off to the coastal city of Essaouira, a picturesque fishing town, lying on the southwest coast of Morocco. With an exquisite beach to the south, Essaouira has become one of Morocco’s most popular coastal towns. Many of the countries wood carvers and artists make Essaouira their home. In the afternoon, you will have your final cooking lesson – learning another wonderful Moroccan meal. Dinner will be served in the riad.

DAY 9 ESSAOUIRA / CASABLANCA

After breakfast, You will leave Essaouira for Casablanca with a stop at El Oualidia on the way. You will drive along the coastline to El Jadida where you will visit the citadel and see the underground cistern. Continue to Casablanca, where you will spend your last night in the country. Dinner could be served at Rick’s Café – famous from the movie Casablanca or another local restaurant.

DAY 10 CASABLANCA

You will be transferred to the airport for departure.
