4 Ways You Need To Improve Your Morocco Tour

If you are going to Morocco, then you are already guaranteed to have a good time. Morocco is one of those destinations that rarely leaves people disappointed.

We promise, it’s THAT great.

But no matter how wonderful Morocco and your tour itinerary are, there are always some ways that you can improve your experience! Here are some of our suggestions.

1. Splurge on one night.

We understand wanting to travel to Morocco on a small budget. That’s why we work with you to create something that perfectly meets your budget and desires. However, we also think that it is worth it to splurge for one night of the tour. If you are traveling 3 star, then book one 4 star night. If you are traveling 4 star, then book a 5 star night.

The accommodations in Morocco are breathtaking. If you have made it all the way to Morocco, why not live it up for a night? Trust us, you won’t miss the extra money when you remember the riad. Ask us what our favorite riads are! We’ll be glad to help you pick out the best one for your splurge.

If you really don’t have the money to splurge on one night, you could go to one of the luxury riads for coffee or a meal, if they have availability. In this way, you’ll get a taste of the experience without having to pay the big bucks for a room. While you might not be able to do this for every riad, there are definitely some that have this option that you can take advantage of!

2. Ask for local restaurants.

Morocco has world-renowned cuisine. It’s usually difficult to find a meal that you don’t enjoy while in Morocco. There are many delicious foods that tourists simply aren’t exposed to because they eat at more formal, tourist restaurants. Don’t get us wrong, these restaurants serve wonderful food and there is nothing wrong with eating at them! However, your Morocco tour experience will benefit from visiting some real local restaurants so you can try the full range of Moroccan food.

Ask your driver to stop at his favorite place for lunch along the road, take a break by a café that looks like it is popular among the locals, or grab a snack from the little hanuts you pass! Chances are that is where you will get the best food and make some wonderful memories. Ask your driver or guide what their favorite foods are and be willing to try foods that might be out of your comfort zone.

3. Add on a cultural activity

If you have any free days on your trip to Morocco, you should think about adding on a cultural activity. It’s a great way to take a break from touring and sightseeing!

Do you love to cook? Think about taking a cooking class! Experts will walk you step by step through the process of creating a Moroccan masterpiece. Some classes will even take you shopping in the markets so that you can experience what it is like to purchase all the ingredients for a traditional Moroccan meal. Be sure to buy some spices so that you can make this meal again when you return home!

Another cultural activity that you could add on to your tour would be the Day in the Life of a Berber. Visit a Berber family and learn about their way of life! It can be either a day excursion or an overnight trip, depending on what you prefer. To read more about this excursion, check out our post: The Day in the Life of a Berber.

4. Get to know your driver!

He will enjoy answering your questions and teaching you about the culture of Morocco. This friendship will be the highlight of your tour…take advantage of the times that you have to interact with him!
