Don’t you hate it when you plan your whole trip to another country and then you realize that you chose the wrong time of year? We don’t want you to have that awful experience in Morocco, so here are a few things that might be helpful in choosing the best time of year.
The Best Weather
After living in Morocco for 10 years, I have come to believe that the best weather in Morocco are the 5 months of March, April, May, September and October. The weather is not too hot, but also not too cold. As you consider the spring (March – May), you will love the flowers in bloom; also remember there might be a few windy nights in the desert.
High or Low Season – Which do you prefer?
The next thing to remember is to look at the different tourism seasons in Morocco. You will want to decide if you would like to travel when there are tons of tourists in Morocco OR when it is more of a low season. The highest seasons of the year are Christmas / New Years and then March / April. Actually, more people are beginning to travel in October as well. If you are looking for a time where there are not too many tourists but the weather is still nice, you might want to consider the end of May.
Over the past 11 years of offering private tours to Morocco, our clients have told us a few things that you may want to know. These 3 tips will help you in planning a successful private Morocco tour.
1. Communicate what you want and enjoy
The beauty of a private tour is that you can create the tour to match your personality, budget or areas of interest. Make sure that you communicate to your tour organizers what would make the tour special for you and your group. Some of clients are very interested in the culture while others are looking for more rest and relaxation. We would suggest explaining a little bit about your group to the tour company so that they can custom design something that will match what you would like. You may be interested in:
History – exploring the ancient cities
Adventure – camel trekking in the sahara
Cooking – enjoying a cooking class
Spa / Relaxation – spoil yourself with a little luxury
2. You set the pace of the tour
Another beauty of a private tour is that you can set the pace of the tour.
As you begin to plan your next tour to Morocco, you will definitely want to find reviews for the tour company that you plan to use. There are a few things you should consider as you look for morocco tour reviews.
Tripadvisor – Only Reviews Day Tour Companies
We have found that over the past years, most travelers head over to tripadvisor to find reviews about tour companies. The only problem with this is that according to tripadvisor policies, they only review companies that offer day tours. We know of a number of companies that have lost all of their tour ratings because tripadvisor has removed the ratings for tours longer than a day.
For example, around 2 years ago, tripadvisor removed 85 five star reviews from their site because someone told them we run full tours and not day tours.
Ask for referrals
Another great way to find real reviews for a tour company is to ask for referrals. Any legit travel company will offer email addresses or contact information for past clients who have traveled with them. When you contact the past clients, make sure to ask specific questions that will help you find out about service, quality, and the details that matter.
