We enjoyed our Morocco adventure a great deal and will remember it for years. Our driver Aissa was always helpful and we felt completely safe with him both on the road and in the Medina. Aissa is a great driver. He never got frustrated with the almost overwhelming congestion in the Medina and never broke the speed limit on the highways. Ruth and I were constantly bothering Aissa with questions but we soon understood when he needed to concentrate on his driving. Aissa was our window into the day to day struggles of life in Morocco but he was never anything but positive and proud of his country. Ruth and I must add that Mohamed our guide made Marakash the highlight of our trip.

First of all, Jamal.  WHAT A STAR.  From beginning to end he was far more than an excellent driver with a fierce love for the car.  He was problem-solver, teller of jokes, guide to all things Moroccan (including Eid ; we spent a great deal of time talking about the sheep in the laundry room of his parents’ apartment). He was flexible and resourceful, adapting our plans to the situation. He was always on time, always cheerful, enthusiastic, informative and detail-oriented. He took us to non-tourist places like his favorite Marrakesh restaurant, where I had my first, delighted taste of tangine. I cannot imagine the trip without him. We just adored him.

Highlights? I don’t know where to begin. But here are a few:
*Mausoleum in Rabat, one of the most beautiful interiors I’ve ever seen.
*The Fes medina.
*The trip into the desert.
*The drive over the High Atlas.
*The people, ever-smiling and always talking, talking, talking.
*Volubilis, even for me who’s no expert on Roman ruins.
*Djemaa el-Fna, of course. I loved inspecting the busy food stalls.
*Shopping in Marrakesh. I’m usually not a big shopper but so many things were irresistible. Our guide, Said, took me to some of the best shops in the medina.

Thank you very much for organizing the Morocco tour for us. We really enjoyed this fantastic trip. It was almost like stepping back in history when we were walking around the Medina. During the 12 days, we immersed ourselves totally in the Moroccan history and culture. The architecture was most interesting (Medina and riads), the food was absolutely delicious, the people were friendly and the Sahara Desert & the High Atlas Mountain were breadth taking. For me, I was also happy to have an opportunity to learn something about the Islam religion and its teaching. The driver, Khalid, and the local guides were quick to answer all our questions regarding their faith. It is very interesting to see the commonality between our religions.

Initially, we were concerned about our safety in the region due to the recent unstable environment. I am so very glad that you have done a great job to convince us otherwise. During the whole trip, we felt very safe under the care of Khalid and the local guides that we could really relax and enjoy the “taste”, “smell” and “sight” of our surroundings.  

The itinerary you set up for us was very good. It is just the right amount of time to keep us interested in the different aspects of the country. The whole trip was perfectly smooth and well-organized. No surprises. Continue Reading

Our experience in Morocco organized by your company was extraordinary. What makes or breaks such an experience is the quality and personality of the guide one works with. In this regard Youssef was nothing short of outstanding in every regard. He has such an ebullient outgoing personality, he is so excited about the country and its heritage, he knows every nook and cranny in every city and town, he is so well versed in the history of the country and makes it come alive when one visits the various sites, his English is excellent and he is timely , punctual and most reliable. We cannot say enough to praise him. The few days after I returned I missed his presence.

The accommodations you chose were overall excellent, particularly in Marrakesh, Dades and the tent. Having the riads in the medinas is particularly attractive. The desert experience and the camel ride are especially unique and the visit to Fez was my personal highlight. I  would have no hesitation whatsoever to highly recommend your company to anyone who is planning to visit Morocco.

Our group of 4 has just finished an 11 day, 10 night tour of Morocco with Experience-It tours; the planning and execution of the tour were handled most professionally by the staff of Experience-It. I highly recommend that anyone considering going to Morocco with your company rely on your expertise. (I often forget that expertise is a lot of what you’re paying for when you opt to see a country with a tour company.)

As an example, I had not considered that the choice of a driver would figure so importantly in the enjoyment of our Morocco trip. First of all, our driver was very safe and skillful; something we quickly came to appreciate. Morocco is about the size of California; you are going to be spending a lot of time with your driver if you you want to see a lot of what the country has to offer. Our driver was very sharp, spoke good English, was personable, and was a fount of information about every area we went to. In addition, we particularly enjoyed talking with him about social, cultural, religious, agricultural, economic, etc. issues in Morocco. As well as the many sights we saw, this personal contact will be a well remembered part of our trip. I can only assume that Experience-It always shows the same expertise in choice of drivers as it showed in choice of our driver, Hamid Zerhiri.

Realistically, there were glitches during our trip, but generally of a type that is inherent in any real travel–we had to dodge donkey poop in the Medina in Fes, the weather was sometimes too hot for me, we ran into flash floods near the Sahara, etc. But avoiding this kind of stuff would mean never traveling anywhere–besides, such experiences often make for the best stories later.

I am only too happy with our trip and am happy to provide some feedback.

I had never heard of Experience IT Tours until I accidentally came across some reviews on the Trip Advisor website. Saw the name Youssef appear a few times with glowing recommendations, as were a number of other names and all reviews spoke highly of them all to. It was the positive reviews that drew me to make my initial enquiries. I can say that from my first enquiry I felt comfortable. I always received a response, and even though there was the tragic bombing of the Argan Café in Marrakesh, my concerns were appreciated and answered honestly.

I never felt pressured by your company and my first contact was from Aaron and then later in the process Ruth. Everything was followed up. Aaron’s suggestions as to suggested upgrades was appreciated and I’m very glad to have taken his advice. The information package sent to us was very useful and not full of useless advertising propaganda as some companies do.

When Youssef arrived to pick us up we felt comfortable straight away. He was a happy, friendly person who had a great sense of humour.

The itinerary was fantastic. We did a lot of things but never felt that it was rushed or crammed. Morocco was great and the diversity was amazing. The accommodation was great.

We felt safe and comfortable at all times and Youssef made sure we wanted for nothing and missed nothing. It was very lucky for us that we had someone who was so passionate about his country, his family and his fellow countrymen. At no time did we ever feel that he was just doing his job. We had a fantastic time on the tour and would be more than happy to recommend Experience It in future. We found the company very easy to deal with from the very beginning, which was great especially since we were already traveling when we started our discussions with you.

Special mention definitely must go to Aissa, who was a great driver – full of information, always going above and beyond to be helpful and able to answer our many questions as we made our way around the country. He even introduced us to his family and welcomed us into his home. The pre-trip experience was great with your company very amenable to my inquiries and the changes we wanted.  The final result was exactly what we wanted and needed as we were short of time for the trip.

Our guide Ahmed was tremendous and very informative with a great sense of humour.  The first Riad was an experience getting to but the accommodation was great.  The walk up through the markets was again an experience but we had already seen something like that in Vietnam.

The next day was a big drive but a great trip with Ahmed being tremendous on the way.  The accommodation in Fes (Riad Jaouhara) was beautiful and one of the best of our five week trip. Continue Reading
