Fountains, flowers (& storks) of Morocco – Gardendrum.com

GardenDrum-logo“There were only two gardens that I wanted to visit when we went to Morocco, Jardin Marjorelle and the gardens of the hotel La Mamounia, both in Marrakesh. I’ll do a separate post about them in the near future but in the meantime I’d like to share some observations about some of the plants and gardens we saw along the way…We visited Morocco in mid- May and travelled with Experience It! Tours on an 11 day 10 night tour. We changed the itinerary so that we didn’t go to the desert but had a few extra days in the places that interested us.”

Yelp – Experience It! Tours

yelp“…My friend paid $300 less for a tour with 18 people, no private driver, and, as she described it, dingy hotels. I think we got an amazing bargain for an amazing experience. I’d definitely use Experience It! again and would advise my friends to as well. Fast responses to emails or calls to the home office to a wonderful folder full of information on our tours as well as in-country contacts make Experience It! a top-flight tour company. Thank you!”

Exploring Morocco and Tunisia – Cornell.edu

Cornell_logo“In my storehouse of travel memories from eleven days in Morocco and five in Tunisia: Islamic architecture decorated from floor to ceiling with gorgeous tiles, detailed woodwork, and elaborate plaster lattice work; Roman mosaics and examples of Roman architecture and ingenuity; stunning scenery with mountain, desert and ocean views; winding paths through medinas with tiny shops exhibiting food, clothes, and craft skills and patterns dating back hundreds of years; the remnants of a thriving Jewish culture and spring weather.”

Ancient Morocco adds modern amenities in bid to boost tourism – USA Today

usatodaysquareLogistics: A visit to Marrakesh typically is part of a larger eight-to-11-day tour of Morocco, which might also take in Fez and other imperial cities, a trip to the coast, a visit to the Atlas Mountains, and an overnight tent stay in the Sahara. Two agencies that make custom arrangements: Monarch Travel (monarchtravelmorocco.com), with offices in Marrakesh and elsewhere; and American-owned Experience It Tours (315-858-3426; experienceittours.com).

Making Morocco’s Medinas Accessible – MoroccoBoard.com

morocconewsboardWhich would you prefer, a limited experience or no experience at all?” The question is put to me by Daniella Johnson while we’re taking a coffee on the terrace of the Café de France, watching the goings on in the beautiful chaos that is Jmaa el Fna, North Africa’s most exotic and vibrant square, the heart and soul of Marrakech.
